After last week's successful American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) 2021 Annual Meeting, we hope your advocacy batteries have been recharged. You can review all the Annual Meeting sessions, including the advocacy-related "Riding the Waves of Change" session, along with the Practice and Policy Committee meeting - all on the EventMobi app or website.
Congratulations to Ami Parekh Hampole, DO, who is the 2021 recipient of the AMSSM Community Advocacy Award. Dr. Hampole is the Skating Director for the Chicago Youth Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing figure skating and ice hockey to economically underserved children in the Chicago area. The purpose of the Chicago Youth Foundation is to "bring the joy of ice sports to Chicago area youth who would not otherwise gain this experience, improving their social and academic well-being, and empowering them to find success through sportsmanship and teamwork." You can read more about Dr. Hampole's work here: www.chicagoyouthfoundation.org. Thank you and congratulations, Dr. Hampole!
And thank you to all the AMSSM members who are such great ambassadors of sports medicine advocacy!
